HOME RECORDS · PRINTABLE WORKSHEET

Know what you own. Keep a private record.

Build a room-by-room list of belongings, print it, or save a CSV for a spreadsheet. No sign-in or upload is needed.

Privacy first. Inventory details can reveal valuables and locations. This tool keeps entries in this browser only, where anyone using the same browser profile may see them. Avoid serial numbers, addresses, access codes and policy identifiers. Store downloaded copies securely, preferably encrypted and away from the home.

How to make a useful home inventory

Walk through each room and list major possessions. For a fictional example, two desk chairs with an estimated replacement price of $125 each would contribute $250 to the planning total. The tool only totals rows with a price you entered; it never invents a value for missing prices. Replacement estimates are not an appraisal or an insurance settlement.

Photograph items and receipts separately and note whether proof exists. Check your insurer's own inventory and coverage requirements; a spreadsheet cannot establish ownership, coverage, or reimbursement. Update your record after significant purchases or removals.

Saving and protecting the record

Entries are stored with browser local storage; clearing site data, using private browsing, or changing devices may remove them. CSV download creates a plain-text file on your device, not a cloud backup. CSV values are escaped to reduce spreadsheet formula injection risk. Protect files containing descriptions of valuables, and avoid storing serial numbers here. The print button uses your browser's print dialog; choose Save as PDF if supported.
